Tantra Online is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG developed by South Korean developer HanbitSoft. A Philippine server was published by Amped from 2004 until 2011.

The game is best known as one of the earliest MMORPGs to be published in the Philippines.

History

Tantra Philippines is the first online published by ABS-CBN Multimedia in 2004. Its closed beta began on October 19 until November 22, 2004, and its open beta began on December 6, 2004. A soft launch party for the game was held at Pier 1, Thee Fort, Bonifacio Global City on October 29, 2004.

Tantra was originally a subscription-based game, but became free-to-play in 2006.

The game was subsequently moved by ABS-CBN Multimedia into its Amped brand after the latter was introduced in 2007.

Tantra was closed down on September 1, 2011. Amped management decided not to renew the licensing contract with HanbitSoft after confirming that there were "no more updates for the game in the coming years".[1] Players were incentivized to migrate to the MMORPG Shaiya.

Music

The official song of Tantra Philippines is "Humanda Ka". It was performed by the Filipino band Sandwich and was released under the 2005 single "Tantra: Neo Oriental Fantasy".
