Luna Online Philippines

Luna Online Philippines was an official service for the PC MMORPG Luna Online in the country that was published by Run Up! from 2009 to 2012.

About

Launch

Luna Online Philippines ran its closed beta phase from July 31 until August 11, 2009. Its open beta stage started on August 14, 2009. The major update called Luna Online Plus was launched on August 31, 2011.

Closure

The game began suspending site account registry, product top-up, and game points locating functions on March 30 until April 20, 2012. The players' remaining game points were refunded on April 27, 2012. The Philippine service officially closed on April 30, 2012,[1] at noon.

No reason was stated for its closure, however, its closure came a month after the North American service at gPotato was closed down on March 2012. During the NA service, gPotato encountered numerous issues and had communication problems with its developer, EYA Interactive.[2] This came a year after EYA Interactive shut down its Korean game services, including Luna Online, on June 1, 2011, to re-organize the company.[3]
