In December 2011, two members of Bida Gaming, the Philippine representatives for the League of Legends World Cyber Games (WCG) 2011 tournament, had their visas delayed due to additional requirements of the South Korean embassy. The WCG Grand Finals was held from December 8 until 11, 2011, in Busan, South Korea. Bida Gaming was unable to participate in the tournament and was forced to forfeit.

In December 2011, the Philippine StarCraft 2 representative for the World Cyber Games (WCG) 2011 tournament in South Korea, Caviar Napoleon "EnDerr" Acampado , was denied visa by the South Korean embassy for undisclosed reasons. This resulted in him forfeiting all of his matches at the event.
