NBA 2K League APAC Invitational 2023 Presented by Cignal
The NBA 2K League APAC Invitational 2023 Presented by Cignal was an on-ground Philippine tournament for the basketball game NBA2K24. It was held on Friday and Saturday, November 17 and 18, 2023 at the the High Grounds Café Diliman in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
No Way Out, an Australian and New Zealand team, won the tournament.
This event was followed by the APAC Invitational 2024.
About
Eight teams from the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, China, and Indonesia competed in a best-of-3, 5v5 single elimination bracket, in NBA2K24 Pro-Am game mode. The champion of the tournament won US$5,000 and earned draft eligibility for the 2024 NBA 2K League Draft.[1][2] Four out of eight are Filipino teams: Laus Group Eagles, LGE Agila, LGE 45ers, and NAOS Esports.
The tournament was the first event by NBA 2K League in the Philippines. Lindsay Ullman, head of business development for the NBA 2K League, stated that Manila is a perfect fit to hold tournaments for the NBA basketball video game due the country's natural fit in terms of culture, fandom, and excitement. This led to the NBA 2K League APAC Invitational 2024 event being held again in the Philippines the following year.[3]
