Conduit

Conduit is a fictional Filipina character in the live service battle royale game Apex Legends by Respawn Entertainment. She is voiced by Filipino-Polish voice actress Frankie Kevich.

Unlike most Apex characters where the real-life nationalities are only implied due to accents and other characteristics, Conduit's nationality is unmistakable as she speaks the Filipino language.

Background - Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a free-to-play live service battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It is a spin-off of the mech-based Titanfall series.

Both the Titanfall series and Apex Legends are set in "The Frontier", the furthest regions of explored space. Apex Legend's timeline is set in the 2700s.

The Titanfall universe already had Filipino references, as Respawn Entertainment's lead artist and later creative director, Ryan Lastimosa, was born in San Diego, California, United States, to a family from Ilocos Norte, Philippines.[1] Lastimosa worked with the studio since its inception in 2010 until 2023.[2]

Release

On October 19, 2023, Apex Legends released an animated video for its "Stories from the Outland" series entitled "For Us, Utang na Loob". It features the origins of Conduit. On some YouTube channels such as IGN, the video had a high amount of downvotes as its first minute features a mech battle flashback scene. At the time of the video's release, fans were clamoring for a Titanfall 2 sequel.

On October 23, 2023, the Ignite Launch Trailer was released, featuring a CGI character introduction to Conduit. On October 26, the Ignite Gameplay Trailer was released.

Lore

Conduit's real name is Rowenna Valentina Coffey Divina, from the homeworld of Nexus.
